Kendrick Lamar - "ADHD"

Kendrick Lamar - "ADHD"

Amazing video directed by Vashtie. So much hype has come up based on Lamar's "Good Kid MAD City" album drop from the resurgence of skits in Hip-Hop Albums (Think, early Eminem and Steve Berman) to the underwhelming support from his label for the late released LP.

A slew of successful mixtapes and joint ventures between Lamar and many established rappers like Lil Wayne, Drake and Kid Cudi built a huge fan following but still no major label debut or promotion. After being signed, Lamar had to find time to record, tour and grow up! According to a snip from an interview with XXL he was used to spending 8-10 hours a day 7 days a week in the studio so the change to being on the road so much and the lack of downtime was a difficult adjustment.

Well, I think he adjusted quite well. Listen to the CD (or 12" if you've got it) from start to finish and you will find yourself with a rewarding, story laden and well thought out listen as opposed to just skipping around to the more radio friendly tracks.

Personally, I can't wait for his next drop. This guy has a bright future if he can keep his game straight and ego in check and not go the "Kanye Route". So sad because "Through The Wire" and the entirety of 808's & Heartbreak were true works of art. Dark Twisted Fantasy was interesting and had it's moments but the hype machine behind it was a bit too much. Couple that with the birth of North West and subsequent marriage to Kim Kardashian and Yeezy's God complex is getting a bit out of hand for this day one fan.
