A Brief History of the "Amen Break"

Unless you have been living in a cave for the past 30 years, you have heard the "Amen Break" whether you knew it or not. It is a 6 second sample from 1969 by The Winstons; specifically, the drum solo by G.C. Coleman.
Interestingly enough, this one sample helped spawn an entire culture (Drum & Bass) and has gone on to be used in all genres of EDM as well as commercial spots.

For a excellent explanation of the history, usage, and legality of the "Amen Break", please click DJ NuuNuu to listen.

Credits go out to Youtube User Mobius32 for this great explanation.
